The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) of Camarines Sur convened its first quarter meeting today, March 27, 2025. The meeting brought together key agencies and organizations to discuss various concerns on disaster risk reduction and management initiatives.
The agenda included weather updates and climate outlook by PAGASA, updates on the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) compliance of LGUs in the Disaster Preparedness Area from DILG, and a report on the 2025 training programs conducted by EDMERO.
In addition, the SP provided insights into the process of accrediting civil society organizations (CSOs) to encourage community participation in disaster risk reduction and management efforts. Discussions also covered upcoming environmental celebrations and activities, while PHIVOLCS raised concerns regarding the volcano monitoring station in Mt. Iriga (Asog). The council also had an initial coordination for the upcoming Holy Week and Summer Vacation (SumVac) to ensure public safety and preparedness during these peak travel periods.
We extend our appreciation to the members of the PDRRMC for their active participation during this meeting and in strengthening DRRM efforts across the province.
