“GINTONG BUTIL”
This national costume is a tribute to the rich agricultural land, hardworking farmers, and bountiful harvest of Cabusao. It relates to the Goddess of Joy and Happiness, who is believed to bring luck to the farmers and prosperity to the land. The "Salakot" headpiece honors the dedicated and persevering local farmers planting palay in the green fields. The brown and gold beads symbolize "Gintong Butil" (palay), while the blue embellishments represent the beautiful waters of San Miguel Bay. The large ribbon at the back signifies the beauty of Bicolandia, and the scarecrow symbolizes the guardian of the farmers' livelihoods in Cabusao. Palay/rice is integral to Filipinos' meals and represents culture, life, and prosperity. The costume is a reminder to be grateful to the Goddess of Joy and Happiness for the bountiful "Gintong Butil."
